Scripture For Today
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” - Isaiah 40:31 NIV
There are seasons when you simply feel tired. You may be tired from waiting for an answer, carrying responsibilities, trying to stay hopeful, working through disappointment, or continuing to show up when life has not turned out as you expected. God does not overlook that weariness. Isaiah 40 begins by declaring that He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
This promise is not based on having enough willpower, energy, or perfect faith. It is for those who place their hope in the Lord. To hope in God is not passive resignation; it is an active, expectant trust in His character, faithfulness, and ability to act. The biblical idea of waiting on the Lord requires us to continue to look to God while remembering who He is.
God renews your strength for the season you are in. Sometimes He enables you to soar above a situation with a fresh perspective. Sometimes He gives strength to run through an intense period without giving up. And sometimes His provision looks like enough grace to walk steadily through an ordinary, difficult day. Each expression of endurance is a gift from Him.
A life led by His Spirit is sustained by dependence on God. You do not have to carry every concern, solve every problem, or know every next step before you come to Him. Bring Him your exhaustion. Let Him exchange your depleted strength for the strength that comes from His presence.
Three Practical Ways To Walk Out This Word Daily
1: Name Your Weariness
Be honest with God about where you feel depleted. Is it your work, health, finances, relationships, grief, responsibilities, or uncertainty? Tell Him plainly: “Lord, I am weary here. I need Your strength.” Honesty opens the way for you to receive His comfort rather than pretending you are fine.
2: Practice Hope While Waiting
Choose a short time today to turn your attention toward God instead of rehearsing the problem. Read this verse slowly, pray it back to Him, or write down one way He has been faithful in the past. Remembering God’s faithfulness strengthens hope in the present.
3: Take The Next Faithful Step
Do not let exhaustion pressure you to solve your whole future today. Ask God what one faithful step is in front of you: make the call, take a walk, rest, complete one task, ask for help, pray, or have the needed conversation. God often supplies strength one step at a time.
Closing Encouragement
You may feel weak, but weakness is not the end of your story. The Lord does not ask you to manufacture strength you do not have. He invites you to hope in Him. As you keep turning your heart toward God, He can renew you, giving you the perspective to rise, endurance to run, and grace to keep walking without fainting.
