Scripture For Today
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. - John 1:14 NIV
John opens his gospel with a breathtaking declaration. Before the beginning of time, the Word existed with God and was God. Then something extraordinary happened in human history. The eternal Word stepped into the world He created. Heaven came near when Jesus was born.
For generations, people longed to know what God was truly like. They heard His voice through prophets and saw glimpses of His power through miracles. Yet when Jesus arrived, God revealed Himself in a way that could be seen, heard, and experienced. The invisible became visible. The distant became present. The Word became flesh.
John says that Jesus made His dwelling among us. The language echoes the Old Testament tabernacle where God’s presence rested among His people. In Christ, that presence walked through villages, sat at tables, and spoke words of life to ordinary people. The glory of God was no longer hidden behind curtains or confined to sacred spaces. It appeared in the life of Jesus.
Those who walked beside Him saw that glory expressed through grace and truth. Grace welcomed the broken and restored the weary. Truth revealed the heart of God and guided people toward life. Together, grace and truth showed the world what God’s love looks like in action.
Jesus healed the sick, forgave sinners, and spoke hope into lives that had nearly given up. Each act reflected the glory John described. It was the glory of a God who does not remain distant but steps close to redeem and restore. In Jesus, humanity encountered the fullness of God’s compassion and wisdom.
The birth of Jesus also reveals the depth of God’s love. The Creator entered His creation, embracing human life with all its vulnerability. He walked through joy and sorrow, laughter and loss. Through it all, He remained faithful to the mission of bringing salvation to the world.
At the cross, that mission reached its fulfillment. The Word who became flesh gave His life so that humanity could be reconciled to the Father. Through His resurrection, new life opened for all who believe. The One who walked among us continues to draw hearts toward grace and truth.
John’s testimony invites every believer into wonder. The story of Jesus is not only history. It is the living revelation of God’s heart. When you look at Christ, you see the Father’s love made visible and His truth spoken clearly.
This truth changes how you approach your relationship with God. You are not reaching toward a distant mystery. You are responding to a Savior who has already stepped into your world. In Him, grace meets you and truth guides you into life.
Three Practical Ways To Walk Out This Word Daily

3. Reflect His Truth and Love
