Scripture For Today
“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” - Romans 8:11 NIV
The cornerstone scripture reminds us that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead is alive in each one of us. Paul goes further to say that, in the same way the Spirit raised Jesus from the dead, this Spirit also gives life to our bodies and dwells within us.
By this, we know that we are not alone. We are not handling the issues of life in our own strength. We are walking with the Holy Spirit within us. Ready and able to remind us of the power of the God, the truth of His word, and the depth of His unfailing love. The grace of God finds the believer through the power of the Holy Spirit.
When you accept this powerful truth, you can begin to let go of the need to do it all on your own. Your heart can open to the life that God wants to pour into you. In receiving the truth that the Spirit is alive in us, we can let go of fear, shame, doubt, and insecurity. There is healing in receiving that His light is right where you are, waiting for you to open your heart.
His Spirit is present in you, bringing life, strength, renewal, and power where you may feel weak. There will be seasons when you feel depleted. You may be emotionally tired, physically worn down, spiritually discouraged, or simply unsure whether you have enough strength to keep moving forward. Romans 8:11 reminds you that the source of your life is greater than your own reserves.
The Holy Spirit does not only meet you in dramatic moments. He strengthens you in ordinary ones too. He can give you patience when you are frustrated, courage when you are afraid, clarity when you are confused, and endurance when you want to give up. Sometimes we focus so much on what feels empty that we forget what is already present.
God’s Spirit lives in you. That does not mean you will never feel tired or need rest. It means your weakness does not have the final word. There is a deeper source of life available to you through God’s presence.
The same God who brings life out of death is still able to revive what feels drained, restore what feels depleted, and breathe fresh strength into places where you thought you had nothing left.
Three Practical Ways To Walk Out This Word
1: Stop Depending Only On Your Own Strength
Notice where you have been trying to push through by sheer effort. Pause and pray, “Holy Spirit, strengthen me here.” Give God room to meet you before you assume everything depends on your energy.
2: Ask God To Bring Life To One Drained Area
Think about the area where you feel most depleted right now. It may be your emotions, relationships, work, faith, or physical energy. Ask God specifically to renew you there and help you receive what you need.
3: Move From A Place Of Dependence
Before taking your next step, remind yourself that you are not moving alone. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your words, decisions, pace, and attitude. Let dependence on God become part of how you move through the day.
Closing Encouragement
You may feel tired, but you are not alone. The Spirit of the Lord lives within you, and His presence is a source of strength you can tap into at any moment. Rest and let His Spirit renew your strength, steady your heart, and breathe life into the heavy places within you.
