Scripture for Today
The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name. - Zechariah 14:9 NIV
The name of the Lord is a safe place. As you rise and look toward the fullness of this day, remember that it is as simple as calling on His name. The weight of this world can get truly heavy. But calling on His name and resting in his presence immediately shifts you. It reduces the weight of the obstacles. It releases the heaviness of your to-do list. The grace and glory of God are right there for you when you call His name.
Here, in Zachariah 14:9, you can see where the Prophet explains that the Lord will be king over the whole Earth. He further clarifies that there will be no other god and that only the name of the Lord will remain. This clearly notes that there will be no idols, no high thing, no stronghold, and no obstacle greater than the Lord.
Let go of every old thing. Release the fear. Release the weight. Release the overthinking. Let go of the old paradigms. Our God is greater, and the name of the Lord will save you.
12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” - Romans 10:12-13 NIV
Call on His name this morning. Rest in his presence this day. Step into the fullness of his presence and allow God to show you the way. The grace of God is there for the taking.
Three Practical Ways To Walk Out This Word Daily
1. Live with Eternal Perspective
Each day, remind yourself that the kingdoms of this world are temporary, but the Lord’s reign is eternal. When you face trials, discouragement, or injustice, lift your eyes to the truth that Jesus is the King who will one day rule all nations. Colossians 3:2 calls us to “set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” This mindset allows you to walk with peace and confidence, knowing that God’s plan will prevail no matter the current circumstances.
2. Declare the Name of Jesus Boldly
The scripture affirms that one day, His name will be the only name. As believers, we can live out this truth now by declaring the power of the name of Jesus in prayer, in worship, and in our daily conversations. Philippians 2:10 reminds us that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow. Speak His name over your home, your workplace, and your community, believing that His authority brings peace and transformation wherever it is proclaimed.
3. Reflect Kingdom Values in Daily Living
If the Lord is King, then we are called to live as citizens of His kingdom. This means choosing love over hate, forgiveness over bitterness, and obedience over compromise. Romans 14:17 says, “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” By embodying these values, you become a living testimony of His kingship, shining light in a world that often rejects truth.
Closing Encouragement
The promise of Zechariah 14:9 assures us that the Lord’s reign will one day cover the entire earth. Until that day, we are called to live as faithful ambassadors of His kingdom. Keep your heart anchored in eternity, boldly declare His name, and walk in righteousness, peace, and joy. Your life becomes a daily proclamation that Jesus Christ is King, and His reign is unshakable.
