But when we allow fear to dictate our actions, we forfeit the power and purpose God has placed within us. 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” Your light is sustained not by your own strength but by the Spirit of God working through you.
Jesus did not call perfect people to be His lights—He called willing ones. Those who would trust Him enough to shine even when it’s uncomfortable. Philippians 2:15 calls us to “shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.” It’s not about being flawless; it’s about being faithful.
You were placed on your hill—your platform, your position, your sphere of influence—on purpose. Whether it’s your home, workplace, ministry, or social circle, that space is your hill. Shine there.
