In the Beginning, God Created
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
— Genesis 1:1 NIV
Everything we see, everything we experience, everything we are—originated with God. He is the source and the initiator. Before there was time, before there was light, before there was land or people, there was God. He created all things, not with struggle, but with power and purpose.
John 1:1-3 gives further insight into the depth of this truth:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
When we reflect on the magnitude of the Creator, we realize that nothing in our lives is too difficult for Him. He holds the entire universe, and yet He still sees us. He crafted galaxies, and yet He knows our name. We can trust Him completely, because the One who created all things is also the One who sustains all things.
There is no need to fear what tomorrow holds. There is no reason to let anxiety rule. The God who created the heavens and the earth is still ruling and reigning today. His Word is steady. His power is sure. And His love is personal.
When we become centered in the revelation that God created all things, we find peace. We find security. We remember that we were created on purpose and for a purpose. Nothing in our lives is accidental. Nothing is overlooked. And nothing is impossible.
The presence of the Creator is not distant. It is near. When we align our hearts with this truth, we can live in daily confidence, knowing we are held by the same hands that formed the stars.
Three Practical Ways To Walk Out This Scripture Today
1. Stand Still in Awe
Remember the Majesty of God Through Creation
Take time today to pause and look at what God has made. Step outside and take in the sky, the trees, the wind, the sound of life. Let creation remind you of the Creator. When you acknowledge His greatness in nature, your soul is reminded that the One who holds the world also holds your life.
2. Center Your Day in His Word
Start with the One Who Spoke All Things into Being
The same voice that said “Let there be light” is still speaking. Begin your day by reading a portion of Scripture, and let it set the tone for everything that follows. By starting with His Word, you place your trust in the authority of the Creator rather than the uncertainty of the world.
3. Release Control and Rest in His Power
Let God Carry What You Were Never Meant to Hold
When stress or fear rises, pause and remember who your God is. You were not designed to carry the weight of the world. He already does. Lay your burdens before the One who made you. Trust that the same power that formed the universe is present in your situation today.
By walking in these practices, you invite the Creator into your everyday moments. The more you center yourself in His greatness, the more peace you will carry. When you live from the revelation that God created all things, you also live from the unshakable truth that He is in control.
