In the Beginning, God Created
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
— Genesis 1:1 NIV
Everything we see, everything we experience, everything we are—originated with God. He is the source and the initiator. Before there was time, before there was light, before there was land or people, there was God. He created all things, not with struggle, but with power and purpose.
John 1:1-3 gives further insight into the depth of this truth:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
When we reflect on the magnitude of the Creator, we realize that nothing in our lives is too difficult for Him. He holds the entire universe, and yet He still sees us.
