“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” - John 1:14 NIV
John 1:14 reveals the heart of the Christian faith: Jesus, the eternal Word, entered human history and lived among us. God did not remain distant from human pain, weakness, grief, temptation, or brokenness. In Jesus, He came near, fully revealing His glory in a real human life.
The phrase “made his dwelling among us” carries the image of God “tabernacling,” or pitching His tent, among His people. He lived among us. It echoes the Old Testament tabernacle, where God’s presence dwelt with Israel in the wilderness.
Full Of Grace And Truth
Jesus came “full of grace and truth.” He did not bring grace without truth, nor truth without grace.
Grace is the unmerited favor of God that can not earned through works. Grace must be received by faith. Through His grace, the Lord embraces the weary, forgives sinners, heals the broken, and invites us to step into a new life with God.

1: Come To Jesus Honestly
Bring one real part of your life to Jesus today, something you have been avoiding, minimizing, fearing, or carrying alone. Tell Him the truth in prayer. You do not need polished words. He meets honesty with grace and leads you in truth.
2: Receive Grace, Then Respond In Truth
If God reveals an attitude, habit, relationship, or decision that needs to change, do not respond with shame. Receive His mercy, then take one obedient step. You may need to apologize, seek accountability, set a boundary, ask for help, or change a pattern. Grace does not leave you where you are; it gives you courage to move forward.
3: Reflect Grace And Truth
In one conversation today, choose to reflect Jesus’ character. Speak honestly without being cruel. Offer kindness without avoiding what needs to be said. Listen carefully, refuse gossip, encourage someone who is struggling, or address a difficult issue with gentleness and respect.

Jesus came bearing the grace and glory of God. He sees our humanity completely: our joys, tears, failures, hopes, and dreams. Like a good, good Father, He does not turn away.
