Scripture For Today
14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. - 1 John 5:14-15
You can go before the throne of grace and mercy right now and pray to God. You can do this right now from a place of authenticity, a yielded heart, and the desire to change your life. The doubt that we have as believers that our prayers are being answered or that God even hears us is a doubt born from heart wounds, lack of faith, and guilt and shame over past mistakes.
It's normal to wonder if God hears you. However, in a life that is walked with God, you can expect to see answered prayer. You can expect to see the fullness of God come forth in mighty ways when you have a history of going to God in prayer.
If there is anything you need right now, and you have not prayed about it, perhaps it is time to start praying now. Bearing this scripture in mind, pray from a place of faith that God does hear you and that His will is to see you prospered. No, every desire of our flesh is not of god. Every dream of fame and fortune is not of God. However, the earnest prayers for deliverance, healing, financial stability, healing in your family, and freedom in your life are all the will of the Father.
But, sometimes we are afraid to pray. We are afraid that the desires of our hearts are not the will of God. We aim low in our lives because we want to be honorable to God. We don't want to feel as if we are desiring riches, wealth, or a life full of greed. So we settle and we consider getting by as a life well lived. However, the scripture decrees that Jesus came that you may have life and have it more abundantly. The scriptures also state that even as you're soul prosperous, God desires for you to prosper.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. - John 10:10 KJV
2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. - 3 John 1:2 KJV
Take the limits off of your relationship with God and release the shackles from your faith. Pray knowing that God hears you. pray believing in your heart that God desires to prosper you. Let go of every old mindset that is hindering your relationship with God and holding you back from experiencing the fullness of the love of the one who hears us.
Three Practical Ways To Walk Out This Word Daily
1. Pray Boldly and Often
Set aside intentional time each day to pray from a place of faith. Do not hesitate or hold back when bringing your desires, needs, or concerns before God. Speak openly and trust that He hears you. Keep a journal to record your prayers and the ways God responds, so that you can see your history of answered prayers.
2. Align Your Desires With His Word
Take time to study scriptures about God's will and His promises to you. As you pray, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal whether your desires align with God's heart. When you know that your prayers match His will, your confidence in His answers will grow.
3. Reject the Lie of Unworthiness
Whenever doubt or shame tries to creep in, declare out loud that you are loved, heard, and justified through Christ. Replace negative thoughts with truth from the Word. Remind yourself daily that your past does not disqualify you from God's promises.
Closing Encouragement
You do not need to shrink back or second-guess whether God is listening. You are His beloved, and He delights in hearing your voice. Let go of fear, release the weight of unworthiness, and come boldly before His throne. Heaven is leaning in to listen.
