Scripture for Today
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. - Psalms 100:4-5 NIV
Praise is a powerful weapon in the arsenal of the believer. As you rise this morning, lift up your hands and give God thanks for a brand new day. Praise is an atmosphere shifter. It changes the atmosphere because of the power of what is being released as you praise. Lifting your hands and giving God glory is an act of worship. It is what we were created to do. The Bible decrees that we were created for his glory.
6 I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’ Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth— 7 everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” - Isaiah 43:6-7 NIV
We have a good, good Father. We belong to Him, and He belongs to us. This relationship grows with time in His presence. It grows when you read His word. But it is magnified when you praise Him. When you lift him up above every situation, and you put Him first, He begins to draw all men to Himself through your yes. Through your obedience. Through your light.
Praise is the gateway. It is how we lift up the God who created the universe. To lift up your hands is to let the King of Glory into your life. Your praise becomes the weapon that the enemy cannot contend with. It becomes the tool and the experience you need to overcome every weapon of the enemy in the name of Jesus.
Three Practical Ways To Walk Out This Word Daily
1. Begin Each Day With Gratitude
Start your mornings by intentionally thanking God for His goodness before the day begins. A grateful heart shifts your focus from what is lacking to what has already been provided. Psalm 118:24 reminds us, “This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice today and be glad in it.” Create a habit of listing three things you are thankful for each morning. This practice sets a tone of worship that carries you into God’s presence with thanksgiving.
2. Offer Praise In Every Circumstance
Praise is not only for moments of joy but also for seasons of difficulty. Paul and Silas demonstrated this in Acts 16:25 when they sang hymns of praise while imprisoned. Choosing to glorify God in every circumstance strengthens your faith and reminds you of His sovereignty. Speak words of praise throughout the day, whether you are in the midst of blessing or trial. This act shifts your focus from the problem to the One who holds the solution.
3. Share Testimonies Of His Faithfulness
The enduring love and faithfulness of God are not only for you but for generations to come. When you share how God has moved in your life, you give others the opportunity to enter into thanksgiving and praise as well. Psalm 145:4 says, “One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.” Be intentional about telling your family, friends, or even strangers how God has shown His goodness. This builds faith and multiplies gratitude in the hearts of others.
Closing Encouragement
Walking in thanksgiving and praise keeps your heart aligned with the reality of God’s enduring love and faithfulness. When you begin each day with gratitude, choose to praise in every season, and share His goodness with others, you actively declare that the Lord is good and His love endures forever. May your life be a living testimony of His faithfulness that continues from one generation to the next.
