Today's Scripture
"The angel answered, ‘The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.’" — Luke 1:35 (NIV)
Luke 1:35 reveals the miraculous nature of Jesus’ birth. He was born fully human, through Mary, but conceived by the Holy Spirit, making Him fully God. This dual nature of Jesus is the cornerstone of our faith—He came as God in the flesh, experiencing life as we do, yet living without sin. His life is the ultimate demonstration that we can live differently, walking in faith, obedience, and reliance on God.
As fully God and fully man, Jesus faced every temptation and trial we experience, yet He remained sinless. Hebrews 4:15 reminds us, “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.” This gives us confidence that through Him, we too can overcome sin and live victoriously.
Jesus’ life and sacrifice also position Him as the author and finisher of our faith. Hebrews 12:2 declares, “Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” He not only sets the example for how to live but also strengthens and sustains us as we walk in faith.
Jesus showed us what it looks like to live a Spirit-filled life, dependent on God for every step. John 5:19 reveals His heart of obedience: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing.” By following His example, we too can live in alignment with God’s will, empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Three Practical Ways to Walk Out Your Faith Today:
Fix Your Eyes on Jesus: Spend time in prayer or reading scripture like Hebrews 12:2. Let His example inspire and guide you as you navigate life’s challenges.
Walk in Obedience: Listen for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and take steps of faith, even when it’s uncomfortable. Trust that God is with you, just as He was with Jesus.
Rely on His Strength: When you feel weak or overwhelmed, remember Philippians 4:13: “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Surrender your struggles to Him and let His Spirit empower you.
Jesus, fully God and fully man, is the perfect example of a life lived in faith and purpose. Trust Him to lead you, strengthen you, and guide you to live differently today.
